Shared reading in the middle of the year

Every morning as a part of our morning meeting our students engage in a shared reading of two poems.  Students are learning print concepts and developing early reading behaviors.  Most importantly our students are building confidence and seeing themselves as readers! 

Students are pulled into small phonics groups daily.    In this video our students are working on mastering their beginning sounds.  Building strong foundational skills supports a students emerging reading and writing development.  

At the beginning of the year in math students are building a strong foundation in number sense.  In this lesson students are are identifying numbers 1-6, counting 1:1, putting numbers in order, and counting.  As the year progresses our students move into more complex math concepts as seen in the following photos.  All groups are differentiated to meet the needs of each individual student.
